Southern Score Builders Berhad ventures into Robotics IBS and Artificial Intelligence to propel Malaysia’s housing sector

    Southern Score Builders Berhad (SSBB) is pleased to announce a strategic collaboration agreement with MCC Overseas (M) Sdn Bhd (MCC Malaysia) and Guangdong Bright Dream Robotics Co. Ltd (GBDR). This collaboration aims to accelerate the integration of automation and robotics into the design, manufacturing, and construction processes of Industrialised Building Systems (IBS) in Malaysia.

    Through this partnership, digitalisation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be harnessed in equipment and machinery to prioritise labour safety, reduce material wastage, and enhance cost efficiency. With a goal of constructing 5,000 houses, this alliance has the potential to significantly transform Malaysia’s construction industry.

    The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was officially signed by all three parties – SSBB, MCC Malaysia and GBDR, during the prestigious 14th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) held in Macau from June 1st to 2nd, 2023.

    Mr. Gan Yee Hin, Executive Director, and Chief Executive Officer of SSBB, states: “We are thrilled to embark on this collaboration with MCC Malaysia and GBDR, as it perfectly aligns with SSBB’s strategic vision for digitalisation and expansion in the construction industry, with a specific focus on IBS.”

    Furthermore, Mr. Gan emphasised that the MOU would not only bolster SSBB’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance principles but also contribute to the construction of a sustainable future for the nation, benefiting both present and future generations.

    The IIICF is a globally recognised event focused on investment and construction of infrastructure. It is jointly organised by the China International Contractors Association and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, with the approval of establishment by China’s Ministry of Commerce in 2010. The IIICF serves as an important platform for strategic thinking, insights, exploring opportunities, and seeking cooperation.

    As a renowned event in the infrastructure industry, the IIICF attracts over 2,000 delegates from more than 70 countries and regions, including ministerial officials and representatives from government authorities, financial institutions, engineering companies, survey and design firms, consultants, and equipment manufacturers.
