Parliament of Malaysia: Integration of e-commerce platforms under MEDAC Mall

    Besut MP Dato’ Seri Idris Jusoh asked the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives to state the measure taken to revive the entrepreneurship sector, especially in the effort to utilise existing digital platforms such as social media, websites and e-marketplace.

    Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC) Tan Sri Noh Omar stated that a total of 617,738 MSMEs had used an e-commerce platform as of August 2021. Furthermore, significant efforts are being made to consolidate existing e-commerce platforms under MEDAC Mall in order to support initiatives under the National e-Commerce Strategic Plan.

    The first is the WarungKu platform, which reported that a total of 3864 e-merchants had already registered as of August 31, 2021. Secondly, there are 442 registered entrepreneurs and 632 stock keeping unit in Pi Beli under PERNAS. Third, there is Angsana Virtual Mall under UDA Holdings, which is an online platform that covers businesses in UDA Malls.
