Covid19 Is Also A Potential Cyber Crisis

After the announcement of the Restricted Movement Order (RMO) in Malaysia, public servants have been ordered to work from home to reduce the risks of spreading Covid-19 and enable department heads to manage officers who are suspected of contracting the virus.

“Covid-19 is a prime opportunity for enterprising criminals because it plays on one of the basic human conditions, fear,” said Secret Officials. Right now the public are in fear of the coronavirus outbreak, but there are cyberattacks taking advantage. Scams and fraud comes in various ways that are beyond our imagination.

Report from cybersecurity company Recorded Future, stated a significant rise in website registrations related to the Covid-19 virus, some of which it believes are being used to either steal information from recipients or infect them with malware. They try to make money from the pandemic.
