NSFA to organise the Negeri Sembilan Open Championship 2023 (NSOC 2023) in Malaysia this weekend

    The Negeri Sembilan Fencing Association (NSFA) announced the inaugural Negeri Sembilan Open Championship 2023, which will be held at the Majestic Hall, Port Dickson from 2 to 3 September 2023.

    The competition, which will have both the Senior and Veteran Categories, is expected to attract both local and foreign participants and is made possible with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), the Negeri Sembilan State Sports Council Negeri Sembilan (MSNNS), the Malaysian Fencing Federation (MFF) and corporate sponsors.

    “We are excited to be hosting the inaugural Negeri Sembilan Open Championship (NSOC) 2023 in Port Dickson for Senior and Veteran fencers. This event will provide a change to in settings for the fencers, who usually have the opportunity to only compete in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. We hope the fencers face healthy competition amongst their peers, but also get to enjoy the food and ambience of the beautiful coastal town of Port Dickson. Thank you to KBS, MyCEB, MFF, MSNNS and our corporate sponsors for working with us to make this event a reality,” said Tengku Dato’ Mu’adzam Sadruddin bin Tengku Noone Aziz, President of the NSFA.

    “One of our objectives of holding this tournament is to allow our local fencers to compete in the idyllic settings of a beach resort, and we also hope to bring in both Malaysians and foreigners to Port Dickson for this event,” he continued.

    “We hope to have this event as an annual event, and to be a fixture on both the sporting and tourism calendars,” he concluded.

    The NSOC 2023 will be held over two days and will see both the Senior and Veteran categories for the three fencing disciplines of Epee, Foil and Sabre.
