While celebrations for the Marketing Excellence Awards Malaysia 2020 were toned down due to the pandemic, the stars of the night did not shine any less. Entropia reigned supreme once again with 31 wins across 23 diverse categories – close to three times more than any competitor!

Judged by an impressive panel of industry leaders, the virtual event honoured 41 categories recognising the creative excellence, successful strategies and effective delivery of work by Malaysia’s premier marketers across diverse disciplines. Spread across existing and new categories, Entropia’s client winners reflect this diversity, with accolades awarded to Etika, Heineken, Lazada, foodpanda, QSR Brands (KFC), BMW, Taylor’s University, FWD Takaful, Alcon (Systane), Watson’s, Fonterra, Tealive, Nippon Paint and Nespresso.

Eligible work vying for the Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies focused on campaigns executed in Malaysia aimed at the Malaysia market; or regional and/or global market campaigns that include Malaysia. A slam dunk in the B2B Marketing category saw Entropia winning all three metals.

Agencies and brands competed in 39 categories focused on campaign excellence, and this year, two new individual categories – CMO of the Year and Marketing Innovator of the Year – put the spotlight on industry gamechangers. Among the slew of Entropia clients dominating the virtual event’s leaderboard, Taylor’s University’s Ben Foo nabbed Bronze and Silver in the respective categories; and Lazada Malaysia’s Diana Boo was honoured with Silver and Gold, respectively. The eCommerce powerhouse also walked away with the coveted Marketer of the Year accolade.

Prashant Kumar, Entropia founder & senior partner, said, “It’s very humbling that despite 2020 being a zero year, our work, and more importantly – the people behind the work – continue to be uniquely feted by an all-star jury of marketing leaders.”

“Gratitude is all I can say – to our people and their relentless pursuit of excellence – and our clients who believe in them.”

Advertising + Marketing magazine’s Marketing Excellence Awards are designed to celebrate, recognise and reward Malaysia’s outstanding marketing campaigns, and the 2020 champions were once again assessed by a high-calibre, independent judging panel comprised of senior industry experts from reputable brands.
