Danone to bolster Government’s battle against COVID-19 in Malaysia

Masks and sanitizers will be distributed to estimated 4,000 healthcare workers across 50 branches of Klinik Kesihatan

To overcome COVID-19 together as one, Dumex’ parent company Danone has committed to supporting the Malaysian government in managing the health crisis, in line with its “One Planet. One Health” global vision. As in many countries in ASEAN and in the world, sourcing protective equipment such as masks has become a major challenge and the Government is doing an amazing job in ensuring adequate supply to hospitals directly dealing with COVID-19 treatment. Danone would like to complement the Government’s efforts by supporting healthcare workers in local hospitals and clinics, where patients are first assessed prior to COVID-19 testing. The company will therefore be donating and distributing masks and hand sanitizers to an estimated 4,000 nurses at Klinik Kesihatan across Malaysia.

The supplies will be progressively delivered in April to 50 branches of the government-owned clinic, to protect them and reduce their risk of infection.

“At this juncture where healthcare workers risk their lives to aid the fight against the COVID-19 virus in Malaysia, we want to contribute to the collective effort to support and protect all healthcare first responders. We would like to express our gratitude to the Malaysian Government and our healthcare workers for their relentless efforts to cope with this unprecedented situation. Let us stay vigilant and united as we face this outbreak together as a nation,” said Danish Rahman, General Manager, Danone Specialized Nutrition, Malaysia.
