ASEAN Brief: Malaysia being top priority for Chinese COVID-19 vaccine recipient

According to Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Once successfully developed, China has agreed to list Malaysia as a priority recipient of the vaccine COVID-19 manufactured in China. This was announced on Tuesday, Oct 13 together with Wang Yi a Chinese Diplomat Who is currently doing a Southeast Asian tour.

Other than that, China also encouraged their local enterprises to collaborate with Malaysia in the Research and Development (R&D) and distribution of the vaccine. Malaysia is also ready to closely monitor the vaccine development, because getting a vaccine is currently being Malaysia’s government’s top priority.

As early as November China said the vaccine could become commercially accessible. Similarly, Wang Yi said that China is advancing significantly in developing vaccines for the COVID-19, adding that China is willing to provide vaccines to other countries as well.
