FedEx wins sustainability and CSR award for community engagement support in Malaysia

FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2023’ in the category of ‘Best in Community Engagement Support’. This is the third consecutive time FedEx has been recognised with this award.

FedEx was recognised for its longstanding efforts in nurturing young talent and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset through the FedEx Express/Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge (FedEx/JA ITC), benefiting over 8,600 students to date in Malaysia. Additionally, FedEx received an accolade for its sustainability efforts, collaborating with Treat Every Environment Special (TrEES) and the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) to rebuild a perimeter wall using sustainable recycled materials. These initiatives are part of FedEx Cares, a global community engagement program that aims to help create a better world.

The nominees were assessed in areas such as clear CSR purpose and goals, programme impact, frequency of CSR events, contribution amounts, transparency in reporting CSR initiatives, creative implementation, strength of the CSR team and sincerity and effectiveness of each initiative.

FedEx Malaysia has recently introduced electric vehicles (EVs) to its fleet, as part of efforts towards its goal of carbon neutral operations by 2040. FedEx also recognises that our sustainability efforts are driven by our culture and investment in people and the communities we serve. Details of the company’s global sustainability initiatives can be found in the recently issued FedEx 2023 ESG Report.
