Prime Video announces highly anticipated suspense series Lies Hidden in My Garden & Battle for Happiness

    Prime Video today announced that new suspense thrillers Lies Hidden in My Garden and Battle for Happiness will be available exclusively on Prime Video in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand. This announcement reinforces Prime Video’s commitment to expanding its slate of high quality Korean content. In addition to the upcoming suspense thrillers, Prime Video offers a breadth of genres including variety shows like Jinny’s Kitchen, fantasy dramas like Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 and Island, as well as rom-coms like Love in Contract.

    With its unique storyline, Lies Hidden in My Garden is a highly anticipated series and stars top actresses Kim Tae-hee and Lim Ji-yeon. Making her return after 3 years, Kim Tae-hee is known for her roles in dramas like Hi Bye! Mama, Yong Pal, My Princess, and more. Lim Ji-yeon, who recently won the Best Supporting Actress – Television Award at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards for her role in The Glory, has acted in Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, Welcome 2 Life, amongst other titles. Other notable cast members include Kim Sung-oh who appeared in Island and Choi Jae-rim.

    The series – adapted from the novel “A House With a Yard” – centers around an ordinary housewife named Joo-ran (played by Kim Tae-hee) whose life changes after she is alerted by a strange odor in her backyard. Visibly disturbed by the unpleasant smell, her husband remains unperturbed and likens it to manure. The smell begins to shatter her picture perfect life. Sang-eun (played by Lim Ji-yeon) is a victim of domestic violence who enters a crossroads in life after her encounter with Joo-ran. The series will debut on June 19, with 2 episodes running weekly, Mondays and Tuesdays.   

    Battle for Happiness stars actresses EL, Jin Seo-yeon, Cha Ye-ryun, Park Hyo-joo, and Woo Jung-won. The thrilling series focuses on a group of mothers who compete fiercely for happiness on social media. A battle ensues after a mother dies under mysterious circumstances and the group is split amongst those who want to hide this secret and those who want to reveal it. This apparent social media warfare is highly relatable to modern society and provides much suspenseful fun.

    Most recently, EL starred in My Liberation Notes, Jin Seo-yeon in One the Woman, Cha Ye-ryun in Perfume, Park Hyo-joo in Now, We Are Breaking Up, and Woo Jung-won in Under the Queen’s Umbrella. The series will debut on May 31, with 2 episodes running weekly,  Wednesdays and Thursdays.
