The Malaysia Robotics and Automation Society (MyRAS), through its newly established wing, Women in Future Technologies (WiFT), proudly represented Malaysia at the 2025 Daegu Global Robot Business Forum and the Global Robot Cluster (GRC) Board & General Meetings, held from 22 to 25 October 2025 at the Daegu Exhibition and Convention Centre (EXCO), Republic of Korea.

The annual forum, organised by the Global Robot Cluster (GRC), brought together global leaders, researchers, and industry experts to explore the latest innovations and trends in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI). The event featured the Future Innovation Tech Expo (FIX) 2025, high-level conferences, exhibitions, and technical visits showcasing cutting-edge technologies driving the next wave of industrial transformation.

Representing Malaysia, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Jessica Ong Hai Liaw, FCILT, Interim Chairperson of Women in Future Technologies (WiFT) and currently serving as a lecturer in National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM), presented WiFT as a new initiative under MyRAS, dedicated to empowering women’s leadership, innovation, and participation in shaping the future of technology. Her presentation highlighted WiFT’s commitment to advancing gender inclusivity and fostering international collaboration within the global robotics and automation ecosystem.

Dr. Ong expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ishkandar Baharin, President of MyRAS, for his trust and support, and extended appreciation to Mr. Kim Chang-ho, Chairman of GRC, and the Secretariat for their warm hospitality and partnership in Daegu.

The participation of WiFT MyRAS in the Daegu Global Robot Business Forum marks a significant milestone in Malaysia’s contribution to the global technology dialogue and reinforces the nation’s commitment to promoting innovation, diversity, and sustainable technological growth.
