CSA Group launches advanced EMC testing facility in Singapore to boost global market access

CSA Group has officially opened a cutting-edge Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) laboratory in Science Park, Singapore, marking a significant step forward for advanced product testing and certification capabilities in South East Asia.

Spanning nearly 10,000 square feet, the facility is set to provide world-class testing services to manufacturers, enabling them to meet complex global compliance standards and access over 140 international markets. The launch of the new lab is supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and underscores the country’s strategic role as a regional hub for technology and innovation.

The new lab houses two semi-anechoic chambers of up to 10 metres in size, designed to ensure accurate and reliable product testing in complex electromagnetic environments. It also boasts state-of-the-art wireless performance testing infrastructure for devices using technologies such as 4G, 5G NR (FR1), and the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as enhanced capabilities in automotive electronics and medical equipment testing.

“The opening of this EMC laboratory represents CSA Group’s deepening commitment to supporting businesses in Singapore and the broader ASEAN region,” said David Weinstein, president and CEO of CSA Group.

“Singapore has established itself as a global hub for research, development and technological innovation. We are proud to contribute to this ecosystem and accelerate the path to market for manufacturers navigating evolving regulatory requirements,” continued David.

The facility also features expanded services in electrical product testing, as well as cybersecurity evaluations to help manufacturers ensure connected devices meet global security standards. These offerings aim to support high-demand sectors such as information and communications technology (ICT), artificial intelligence (AI) servers, industrial systems, and medical devices.

Frances Hung, senior vice president for East and South Asia at CSA Group, said, “With the opening of our new laboratory, we are excited to offer our customers in Singapore and the ASEAN region advanced testing and certification services. Our commitment to delivering trusted services will help our customers meet regional and international standards, expanding their market reach while supporting the global delivery of innovative products.”
