    Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Cricket and Kuckrjea & Co an established sports equipment retailer have proudly teamed up in a three –year partnership agreement, that will bring cheer and financial respite for cricket programmes at the grassroots level, namely the Cricket Adiwira Programme;
    This official partnership agreement will see Kuckreja supply the Trident Range of the Adiwira Plastic sets to Malaysian Cricket from 2021 -2023.
    Each set contains 1 Bat, 1 Poly Ball, 1 set of Stumps with Base and Balls and 1 Carry Bag.

    Cricket Adiwira is an entry-level cricket programme played in schools through a simple format of cricket that can be played anywhere, at any time, by anyone. This format of simplified cricket is essentially is designed to empower and transform lives starting at the grassroots level.
    Seeing the amplitude of this programme, Yayasan Sime Darby came on board and made a significant difference to the development and growth of the programme with a significant sponsorship under the YSD sponsorship programme. And, through this sponsorship Malaysian Cricket Association is able to move forward laying solid foundations for the development of Cricket in Malaysia.

    For the Cricket Adiwira programme, the Malaysian Cricket Association has set its own targets, wherein each primary school should encompass a pool of 128 students to play cricket. Notwithstanding these targets, the Malaysian Cricket Association is painstakingly working towards locking in a total of 2,000 schools within the next three years.

    MCA President,- Mr Mahinda Vallipuram thanked Kuckreja & Co. for kindly agreeing to provide the equipment set at such a nominal price adding “While we work towards building the Cricket Adiwira programme, one of the major setbacks was the purchase of equipment.”
    He noted that “While the initial interest of parents and the children seemed rather positive, the majority of parents and schools, could ill-afford the cost of the equipment and interest would then soon fizzle out.”
    “Now there will be no more reasons for parents and not encourage their children to pursue cricket and let the sport taken them greater heights.”
    This partnership truly complements and aids the work being done by the Malaysian Cricket Association to add value for long term sustainable growth. Additionally, plastic cricket sets are safer for beginners.

    Commenting on the partnership, the Director of Kuckreja – Mr Kuckreja said “Kuckreja is humbled to be working with Malaysia Cricket on the Adiwira Cricket project for the next three years.

    MCA has been making some massive leaps forward in the promotion of cricket amongst Malaysian youth, and Kuckreja is excited about the prospect of supporting those initiatives.

    Our Trident Plastic Cricket sets are a testament to the hard work put in by the MCA, and we’re looking forward to seeing these sets travel to all corners of Malaysia”

    The concept of Cricket Adiwira which is soon to receive its copyright status is rapidly expanding beyond the set targets, and with such viable partnerships such as this, the Malaysian Cricket Association is confident of its sustainable growth.
