Under PIKAS, Coway Malaysia aims to vaccinate nearly 10,000 members of the Coway family that have yet to be vaccinated under the conventional National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK). They include Coway Ladies (Codys), Service Technicians, Coway Technicians, Health Planners, Homecare Technicians as well as staff at its headquarters. To facilitate these vaccination efforts, Coway has allocated a budget of about RM1.1million for this special medical initiative by the company.

“We prioritise the safety and protection of our ‘Cowayians’ as they are the backbone of our organisation — and we are happy to take any steps necessary to make sure that they are all properly vaccinated,” said Kyle Choi, Managing Director of Coway Malaysia.

“As an organisation that believes in the importance of a Healthier Environment for a Happy Nation, we are proud to be a part of this public-private partnership for the community’s overall well-being, and supporting the government’s goal of achieving herd immunity as soon as possible,” he added.

Launched on 16 June 2021, PIKAS is a public-private collaboration aimed at accelerating vaccination among the Malaysian workforce and expediting herd immunity for the community at large. Company participation in PIKAS is entirely voluntary.

Coway Malaysia has already begun its PIKAS efforts in the Klang Valley, with approximately 2,400 Coway professionals receiving their vaccines at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from 23 to 25 July 2021. Additionally, there were 15 Coway staff who also served as volunteers at MITEC to help ease the vaccination process at the centre.

The company will continue facilitating the immunisation of their staff in other states with all the first doses expected to be completed in July.

“By speeding up vaccination of our ‘Cowayians’, we are also looking out for the well-being of our customers. Many of our Coway professionals are unsung ‘frontliners’, especially those going into homes to service Coway products. With this immunisation effort, Coway customers can be assured of their own safety as well,” added Choi.
