Singapore to host South East Asia’s biggest F&B and coffee showcase this month

Speciality Food and Drinks Asia, SIGEP Asia, and SCTA return with chocolate art, coffee championships and more

Singapore is set to become the region’s food and beverage epicentre from 16 to 18 July 2025, as the Speciality Food & Drinks Asia (SFDA), Speciality Coffee & Tea Asia (SCTA), and SIGEP Asia return to Sands Expo & Convention Centre. Co-located with Restaurant Asia, this year’s edition promises a sensory-rich experience that spans artisanal cuisine, cutting-edge food tech, and regional coffee innovation.

Organised by IEG Asia, the three-day showcase is expected to draw over 12,000 visitors and buyers from across ASEAN and beyond. SIGEP Asia, in particular, is the Southeast Asian extension of Italy’s renowned SIGEP WORLD show, reflecting a growing regional appetite for premium gelato, pastry, coffee, and confectionery.

Spotlight on Regional and Global F&B Talent

Among the headline events is the Singapore National Coffee Championship 2025, organised by the Singapore Coffee Association. Top baristas will compete for the chance to represent the city-state at the World Coffee Championships in 2026, spotlighting Singapore’s growing profile as a coffee capital in the region.

For the first time in Southeast Asia, the Panettone World Cup – Asian Selections will take place on 18 July. Six Singapore-based pastry chefs will compete alongside regional talents, with winners advancing to the finals in Italy, offering a rare regional window into this celebrated European tradition.

Visitors can also participate in a hands-on “Introduction to Cupping” workshop led by the Speciality Coffee Association and Bettr Academy, catering to both industry newcomers and seasoned café professionals.

    Artistry meets edibility

Blending food with visual spectacle, award-winning Singaporean pastry chef Janice Wong, in collaboration with French premium chocolatier Valrhona, will unveil a nine-metre edible chocolate wall—a centrepiece of SFDA that exemplifies the event’s fusion of craftsmanship and creativity.

Further adding to the regional flair is the Singapore Roasters Showcase, where local coffee producers will lead public tastings and cuppings to highlight the country’s growing influence in specialty coffee.

Attendees can expect a curated range of products from artisanal pasta and gelato to chocolate and tea innovations.

Live culinary demonstrations will feature acclaimed chefs such as Italian MasterChef winner Tiziana Stefanelli, offering insights into global food trends and techniques.

The Tech & Innovation Pavilion (TIP) will spotlight next-gen solutions for F&B, including AI-driven kitchen tools and plasma flame technology from Egnite, in line with the region’s drive towards digital transformation in foodservice.

    Strengthening ASEAN’s coffee identity

Of particular note to South East Asia’s coffee-producing countries is the ASEAN Coffee Institute’s debut training of its Coffee Appreciation Protocol (ACAP) at SIGEP Asia. Under the guidance of Technical Director Dave Lim and Chief Education Officer Justin Metcalf, the programme marks a step toward formalising ASEAN’s collective coffee identity and quality standards.

A strategic platform for regional growth

This year’s co-located events reflect IEG Asia’s broader strategy to position Singapore as a launchpad for F&B innovation and industry development in Southeast Asia. Following its partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board, IEG Asia has continued to grow its portfolio of niche trade events that facilitate meaningful regional and international connections.
