Parliament of Malaysia: Strategies for endemic phase

    Gopeng MP Dr. Lee Boon Chye asked the Minister of Health to state the measures taken by the Ministry in preparing for the endemic phase of COVID-19.

    According to Deputy Health Minister II Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, there are five key strategies for the transition to the endemic phase. First, there are public health response and vaccination strategies like find, test, trace, isolate, and support. Second, conduct continuous testing and monitoring to identify new commodity variants.

    Third, primary health care is being improved and the virtual Covid Assessment Center (CAC) for determining COVID case status is being expanded to other states. Next, guiding the community and individuals through COVID-19. The community is also encouraged to conduct their own mental health screenings using the MySejahtera app in order to detect early depression and anxiety.

    Lastly, SOPs and quarantine policies will be adjusted based on the COVID-19 situation at the national and global levels.
