Solarvest Green Energy Dialogue & Dinner leads the charge for Sarawak’s sustainable future

    Regional clean energy expert, Solarvest Holdings Berhad successfully hosted the Solarvest Green Energy Dialogue & Dinner at the Unifor Complex, Kuching, bringing together approximately 800 key stakeholders from government, industry, and the community to discuss collaborative strategies for accelerating Sarawak’s clean energy transition.

    Held under the theme “An Evening for Sarawak’s Sustainable Future: Powering Homes, Business & Community with Solar Energy” the event underscored Solarvest’s support for the Sarawak Energy Transition Policy (SET-P) and Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), particularly in promoting the adoption of solar energy to achieve energy security, inclusivity, and sustainability for all Sarawakians.

    Graced by YB Datuk Dr. Haji Hazland bin Abang Hipni, Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Sarawak, the event received strong support from key government leaders, reflecting strong government commitment in driving clean energy development and bringing public-private partnerships together as a unified force to drive the state’s development.

    In his keynote address, YB Datuk Dr. Haji Hazland bin Abang Hipni added: “Tonight’s gathering reflects Sarawak’s clear direction in accelerating the shift toward cleaner, more secure, and economically sustainable energy. Partnerships like this are essential, especially when we bring more renewable projects to life. With this, we are opening new investment opportunities, creating skilled jobs, and ensuring the benefits of clean energy reach communities across Sarawak.”

    Mr Leon Liew Chee Ing, Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer of Solarvest, shared: “Our goal aligns closely with the State’s Energy Transition Policy. As the game-changer in new energy landscape, we ensure that clean energy is not just an aspiration, but an affordable and accessible way of life. By empowering communities to generate and uses clean energy, we are helping Sarawak build a sustainable, inclusive, and economically vibrant green energy ecosystem. As a Sarawakian, I am committed to supporting the state’s progress, ensuring clean energy adoption is effortless and accessible for everyone.”

    The dialogue reinforces Solarvest’s commitment to supporting Sarawak’s clean energy ecosystem through innovation, partnerships, and community engagement, echoing Sarawak’s vision to becoming a clean energy hub under SET-P, focusing on affordable, low-carbon, and locally generated energy solutions.

    In support of this vision, the event spotlighted the recently launched Net Energy Metering (NEM) Subsidy Scheme introduced by Sarawak Energy Berhad in September 2025, offering financial incentives of up to MYR 12,000 for homeowners installing rooftop solar systems under the Domestic Tariff category beginning 2026.
