FWD marks 12th anniversary with 12 charitable grants across Asia

FWD Group has marked its 12th anniversary by announcing 12 charitable grants across ten Asian markets, supporting local initiatives in financial literacy, health and wellbeing, education and entrepreneurship.

Founded in 2013, the insurer has grown from its base in Hong Kong, Macau and Thailand to now serve some 30 million customers across Asia. Its anniversary grants underline the increasing importance of corporate social responsibility in the region’s insurance sector, as companies seek to strengthen community ties while expanding their customer base.

    Regional commitment to community

“Celebrating our 12th anniversary as a newly listed company makes this milestone especially meaningful. … FWD now touches the lives of 30 million people and their families across Asia,” said Huynh Thanh Phong, Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of FWD Group. “With caring as one of our core values at FWD, giving back in tangible and impactful ways to the wider community is a big part of our vision of changing the way people feel about insurance.”

Earlier in 2025, FWD extended its regional collaboration with Junior Achievement Worldwide – a Nobel Peace Prize nominee – to reach 40,000 more students in Asia by 2027 with financial literacy programmes, while adding mental wellness and resilience components.

By spreading its grants across multiple markets, FWD is following a broader regional trend: using milestone anniversaries as opportunities to reinforce brand purpose and contribute to pressing social needs. In Asia’s insurance sector, where trust and customer engagement are crucial, such initiatives can be as important as product innovation in strengthening long-term positioning.
