Yoodo joins forces with CENDANA to reignite Malaysian arts

In a bid to boost the arts and cultural scene in Malaysia, Yoodo – Malaysia’s first fully customisable and 100 per cent digital telco – announced a partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia’s (MCMC) cultural economy arm, the Cultural Economy Development Agency (CENDANA), to support the annual art programme, Art In The City (AITC) as its Official Telco.

Yoodo is further driving buzz for AITC through #WhatYooWant at #ArtInTheCity 2021, an Instagram (IG) Reels contest. Those who attend two of AITC’s festivals can stand a chance to win an iPhone 13 and exclusive Yoodo merchandise! To participate, Malaysians simply need to upload their best moments at KLWKND (25-28 November 2021) and Sensorii (1-28 December 2021) to their IG reels with the hashtag #youdoitbetter and tag @yoodomy. Participants will also need to ensure that their IG accounts are set to public.

Chow Tuck Mun, Head of Yoodo, said he was happy to see life being restored to the local arts and culture community, after a challenging year for the community and Malaysians alike. “We relied on arts and entertainment to occupy us during our time in lockdown, and now it’s time to give back to the community. Yoodo is proud to be a part of MCMC’s efforts to support the local arts scene and give Malaysians a chance to participate and experience Malaysian arts.”

Art In The City is (AITC) CENDANA’s flagship programme first launched in 2018 to promote local arts to the public. This year’s edition encompasses a wide range of online as well as on-ground artistic programmes that includes forums, art classes, theatre productions, festivals, exhibitions, and many more that serves to encourage participation in arts among Malaysians.

With the support of Yoodo and other entities, the programme brings a variety of artistic endeavours to Kuala Lumpur and several other states in Malaysia until 28 December 2021, transforming the city into a creative hub for art, music, design and more.

“Beyond providing unique experiences, we have always focused our efforts on providing a platform for local talents to shine on, whether that’s in music, entertainment, arts and more. We’re glad our vision coincided with MCMC’s efforts, enabling us to work together to deliver a truly special artistic experience for Malaysians through this partnership. So if you haven’t already, make sure to check out all of AITC’s programmes and even win some cool prizes with Yoodo!” Tuck Mun concluded.
