Prime Video strikes global deal with CJ ENM to stream Korean content worldwide

Prime Video entered into a strategic collaboration with Korean entertainment powerhouse CJ ENM to bring a new wave of premium K-content to global audiences, in a move announced on Monday (5 May) at the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in India.

Under the multi-year agreement, Prime Video has secured worldwide distribution rights—excluding Korea and China—to a suite of upcoming series and popular titles from CJ ENM, Studio Dragon, and CJ ENM STUDIOS. The first new release, Head Over Heels, a fantasy romance drama, will premiere in late June 2025.

The collaboration is set to significantly broaden Prime Video’s Korean offering, with content made available to viewers in over 240 countries and territories. In line with its growing global audience, all new titles will include subtitles in 28 languages and dubbing in 11.

“This strategic collaboration with CJ ENM reinforces Prime Video’s commitment to bringing the best of Korean entertainment to our customers worldwide,” said Kelly Day, international head and vice president of Prime Video.

She continued, “Korean content continues to resonate deeply with global audiences. We’ve witnessed the borderless appeal of Korean storytelling with the phenomenal success of shows like Marry My Husband and No Gain, No Love, which not only captured hearts across continents but also ranked among the Top 10 most-watched non-English language international originals of 2024.”

Beyond new releases, Prime Video will also add fan-favourite titles from CJ ENM’s catalogue, including romantic comedy Her Private Life, Another Miss Oh, and the psychological thriller Mouse.

Gaurav Gandhi, vice president of Prime Video in APAC and MENA, added, “At Prime Video, our ambition is to be the first-choice entertainment hub for consumers. … As Korean content continues to find massive audiences worldwide, we’re thrilled to bring these captivating narratives exclusively to our worldwide audiences.”

Jangho Seo, executive vice president of CJ ENM’s content business division, expressed confidence in the partnership’s global impact. “Korean entertainment has been winning hearts around the world with its compelling narratives, relatable characters, and outstanding production quality,” he said. “Through Prime Video’s extensive global reach and strong commitment to multi-language subtitles and dubbing strategies, we are excited to make our upcoming titles even more accessible and enjoyable for audiences across cultures and languages.”

The announcement comes as CJ ENM marks its 30th anniversary in 2025. With a legacy that includes Oscar-winning film Parasite and K-pop juggernauts like ZEROBASEONE, the company aims to deepen its international footprint through high-profile collaborations.

Prime members worldwide will have access to the new Korean titles at no additional cost. For more information, visit www.amazon.com/primevideo. News Hub Asia's new seal logo is a black spot with the letters 'NHA' inscribed in the centre with three diagonal dots in white.
