Malaysian creative tech firm 3Particle has officially launched XyperReal Stage, a 1,000 sq ft extended reality (XR) facility hailed as the nation’s first virtual production research and innovation centre. Supported by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), the Tuesday launch marks a significant leap forward for Malaysia’s digital content and immersive technology sectors.
“We created XyperReal Stage as a space where creative minds can come together to explore the latest technology, learn hands-on, and bring innovative ideas to life,” said Ts. Carl Loo, founder and owner of 3Particle.
Originally established in 2021 as XR Stage Malaysia, the rebranded XyperReal Stage is designed to serve as a central hub for demonstrations, hands-on training, and cross-industry collaboration. The studio features state-of-the-art LED displays, camera tracking systems, and virtual production tools to support film, television, live events, broadcast, and interactive experiences.
“This facility is a step forward for Malaysia’s creative ecosystem, and a platform to help our local talent shine on the global stage,” continued Carl, who owns XyperReal Stage.

The studio also benefits from global technology collaborations with brands including Brompton Technology, PIXREAL, Mo-Sys, and Macroblock. These partnerships enable 3Particle to offer integrated virtual studio solutions—ranging from immersive set design to advanced chip-level systems—positioning Malaysia as a regional leader in virtual production.
MDEC chief executive officer Anuar Fariz Fadzil welcomed the launch, calling it a milestone for Malaysia’s digital economy. “Facilities like XyperReal Stage are not just production spaces—they are platforms for talent development, cross-industry collaboration, and technological experimentation that can unlock new economic opportunities for Malaysia,” he said.
In support of local talent development, 3Particle is also working with veteran Hollywood VFX artist and Unreal Engine instructor Hussin Khan of EFXCO Academy to build a specialised training pipeline. The programme will offer skill-building in real-time rendering, virtual set design, and digital storytelling.
The launch event featured a series of expert talks and a fireside chat on “Emerging Trends in the Virtual Production Landscape Across Asia”, attracting participation from international industry leaders and creative professionals.
As part of its broader vision, 3Particle plans to expand its XR capabilities across South East Asia, offering turnkey solutions for creative industries seeking cutting-edge immersive technologies. ![]()
